   Global Direct Television LLC (GDTV) was incorporated in the United Arab Emirates in 1996 as a major pay TV channel distributor for Showtime and Orbit (Now OSN). GDTV, initially was under ZAKSAT from Kuwait and in the year 1999 was transferred under KIPCO, Kuwait's largest investment companies listed in the Kuwait Stock Exchange.

In 2000, GDTV engaged in a business tie up with ADD (Now PME – Pehla Media Entertainment.) and started distributing its pay TV channels such as Pehla, Firstnet, Star TV channels.

In 2001, GDTV associated itself with one of the premium manufacturers of the Ankaro for marketing and installing Class A Cascadable Satellite Switches – which today is one of the most recommended brands as listed by the top consultants.

In 2008, GDTV achieved one more break-through and established an alliance with Emirates Telecommunications Corporation (Etisalat) to provide its services for the provision, installation, configuration of customer devices for internet broadband and VoIP for Internet wireless / microwave access and future multimedia services for their fixed access network customers.

In 2011, One more milestone achieved with technological advancement in installing / maintaining Fiber Optic system. Currently – GDTV provides its services to the SMATV system installed in Green Community in DIP, Dubai which is one of the most esteemed communities with most of its residents being the elite population. The entire community (East and West) is wired together by one Dish farm and the distribution is based on a network using Fiber Optic technology.

Today Global Direct Television L.L.C. with its offices in UAE has been ever expanding has its business spread all across the Emirates.
